Acrylic thick sheet cutting is a precision process that requires careful control of both equipment and technique. Thick acrylic sheets, usually over 20mm in thickness, are dense and hard. To achieve smooth and clean edges, appropriate cutting tools and cooling methods are essential.

1. Cutting Process

The most common method for cutting thick acrylic sheets is table saw cutting.
During operation, the sheet is positioned accurately using a metal guide rail, and the operator pushes it forward at a steady speed to ensure uniform cutting.

To prevent the heat generated by friction from softening or melting the material, cooling water is poured onto the cutting area during the process.
This water-cooling technique effectively reduces cutting temperature and friction, resulting in a clear and smooth edge finish.

After water-cooled cutting, the acrylic thick sheet shows smooth, transparent edges with no burn marks or deformation.
For applications requiring higher optical clarity, the edges can be further refined through flame polishing or mechanical polishing, achieving a crystal-clear appearance.
